The performance opens the exhibition through a direct encounter between body, clay, and time.

The body presses into raw clay, leaves a trace, and lets time do the rest.
Over the course of the exhibition, the clay changes — cracks, lightens, and reveals what was underneath. In the space below, a looped video holds one moment of that same act, fixed forever. Nine fired clay fragments sit between them: time stopped by fire.
Flowing time. Repeating time. Stopped time. One space.

Seung Jun SeoSeung Jun (“Jun”) Seo (pronounced sung-joon-suh) is a contemporary installation artist whose multidisciplinary background spans musical and commercial art direction. Working with handcrafted materials such as metal and wood, he has developed a distinct sculptural language rooted in performance and audience experience rather than traditional painting.
After formative experiences in Maui and Asheville, a key center for American ceramics, Seo moved beyond functional object-making to explore how “absence” and intangible voids can be held and shaped through space. Expanding into installation, his practice translates individual isolation into shared, collective experience.
Seo has presented his work in invited exhibitions at institutions including the National Assembly and various art fairs. He currently serves as the director of Gallery Ether and is preparing for an upcoming exhibition at a nonprofit cultural institution in New York.

ModA Curations is a creative organization bridging contemporary art and sociocultural anthropology. Functioning as a sub-entity of Modern Anthropology (ModA) Studios, LLC, ModA Curations operates virtually with in-person, bi-annual exhibitions, showing spring and fall in New York City and Los Angeles, respectively. ModA Studios was founded in the Fall of 2023 by Executive Director and Anthropologist Georgian “George” Fan.
